Platforms change their minds. An algorithm shifts and your reach halves overnight. A policy update flags a stream you have run for years. An account gets restricted while an appeal sits in a queue for a week. None of that touches a page you own. A custom website for live streaming gives your broadcast a permanent home at your own address, so your audience always knows where to find you no matter what any platform decides this month.
The good news is you do not need a developer or a hosting plan to build one. OneStream Live hosts the page for you, and your stream still reaches multiple platforms at the same time. Here is how it works.
Setting up a custom website for live streaming takes a few minutes, with no code, no hosting and no design work.
OneStream Live hosts the page, so there is nothing to install and no server to pay for.
Pick a theme, add your branding, and customize what the player shows.
The page can run on your own subdomain, so viewers land on stream.yourcompany.com instead of a platform link.
Pages stay hidden until you publish, and password protection locks private broadcasts.
What Are Custom Websites?
A custom website is a webpage built around your live stream. The video sits in the middle, a live chat panel sits beside it, and everything on the page carries your branding rather than a platform’s.
You build it inside OneStream Live. Pick a theme, upload your logo, choose what the player shows, and publish. There is no code, no design work and no hosting to buy, because the page runs on OneStream Live’s servers.
Viewers reach it through a link, either one OneStream Live provides or a subdomain of a domain you already own, so the address reads stream.yourcompany.com instead of a platform URL.
Features of Custom Websites in OneStream Live
Everything on the page is yours to set, and none of it needs code or design work.
Here is what the editor gives you.
Themes and Fonts
Four themes ship with it. Light, Dark, OSL Purple, and Custom for anything else you have in mind. Pick a font family to match, and the whole page will follow.
Your Branding
Upload a logo and set your company name, and both appear on the page. Text content sits underneath, so you can introduce the broadcast or tell people what they are about to watch.
Social Links
Turn on social links and add the channels you want to send people to. Each one opens in a new tab, so a viewer following you on another platform does not lose the stream they came for.
Chat
A live chat panel sits beside the video, so viewers watching on your page can talk to you and to each other rather than sitting in silence while the conversation happens on other platforms.
How to Set Up a Custom Website
The whole thing takes a few minutes.
1
Create the Website
Sign in to OneStream Live and open Custom Websites from the sidebar under Destinations. You will see how many website slots your plan includes and how much bandwidth you have used this month.
Click New Website. Give it a name you will recognize later, since you can run several at once for different broadcasts or different audiences.
2
Style the Page
Open the Webpage tab. Under Page Style, choose one of the four themes and set your font family.
Switch to Page Content and add your branding. Upload a logo, enter your company name, write your text content, and turn on social links if you want them. A live preview sits beside the editor throughout, with a toggle between desktop and mobile so you can check both.
3
Configure the Player and Chat
Open the Player tab and decide which controls viewers get. Play button, volume, duration, progress bar, picture-in-picture and fullscreen are all individual switches, and there is an option for a background image behind the player.
The Chat tab controls the conversation panel beside your video.
4
Set Access and Publish
Open the Access tab. New websites start hidden and visible only to admins, so nothing goes public before you are ready.
Your hosted page URL is here, and you can edit the ending of it. Turn on Password Protection if the broadcast is private, and use Add a subdomain to run the page on a domain you already own.
When the page looks right, click Publish.
5
Stream to It
Your custom website now appears as a destination when you set up a broadcast. Select it alongside your social platforms and one stream reaches all of them together.
Use a subdomain you can say out loud. If people hear the address during a broadcast, stream.yourbrand.com is easier to remember than a hosted link with a random ending.
Watch the Numbers
The Analytics tab reports on the page itself. Total viewers, total streams and your last broadcast, tracked per website rather than pooled together.
Bandwidth is shown on the main Custom Websites screen and resets monthly. It covers both custom websites and stream players. Worth a glance before a large event, since a single busy broadcast uses more than a quiet month of weekly streams.
Who Uses This, and Why
Same setup for everyone, but the page does a different job depending on who is streaming.
Churches and Faith Organizations
Many congregations have no website capable of hosting a service, and the ones that do often cannot embed a stream easily. A custom website carries the name, the branding and a chat panel where the congregation can gather, and password protection keeps a private service private.
Businesses and Marketers
A product launch on your own subdomain reads differently to a link on a social platform. There is no competing content beside the video and no algorithm deciding what plays next, and the page can be shared in an email campaign without sending anybody to a social feed.
Educators
A dedicated page works as a virtual classroom, with a stable link students return to each week. Password protection restricts a session to the people who should be in it.
Musicians and Creators
A page under your own name gives a performance a home. The player can be styled around the set, and social links send listeners to wherever your music lives afterward.
Your Page, Your Audience
Social platforms are where people find you. A page of your own is where they come back to.
The platforms are still worth streaming to, and nothing here asks you to give them up. What changes is that a custom website for live streaming means you no longer depend on them entirely. When an algorithm shifts or an account gets flagged, your audience still has an address that works, and it has your name on it.
Set one up before your next broadcast. It takes a few minutes.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a custom website for live streaming?
It is a webpage that hosts your live stream under your own branding, with a video player and a chat panel, hosted for you rather than on your own server.
Do I need my own hosting or a developer?
No. OneStream Live hosts the page, and everything is configured through an editor with a live preview. No code and no design work.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. You can add a subdomain of a domain you already own, so the page loads at an address like stream.yourcompany.com instead of a platform link.
Can I keep a broadcast private?
Yes. Websites start hidden and only become public when you publish them, and you can add password protection to any page.
How many custom websites can I create using OneStream Live?
That depends on your plan. Your slot count is shown at the top of the Custom Websites screen.
